For scholarship and education on and in eastern Europe

EEPS Foundation promotes high-quality, interdisciplinary scholarly research on and in eastern Europe; serves as a forum for academic and educational work; and organizes conferences, seminars, and workshops on east European studies.

Foundation activities are directed toward eastern Europe defined as the lands and peoples between Germany and Austria to the west, Russia to the east, and including the Balkans to the south.

Student Writing

FUUS held its first essay writing competition in the winter of 2024. Students submitted essays that they had worked on with their professors as part of their coursework. Presented here are the essays that received recognition. These writings not only stand as a testament to our students' resilience and their commitment to furthering their education under extreme circumstances but also demonstrate their thoughtful analysis and diverse perspectives, enriched by our comprehensive course offerings.

The editorial team of East European Politics and Societies (EEPS), along with the board of the EEPS Foundation, are delighted to announce the appointment of Dr. Jessie Margaret Labov (Corvinus University, Budapest)  as Editor of the journal.  Jessie Labov, together with Dr. Lavinia Stan, (St. Francis Xavier University, Nova Scotia), will serve as collegial and coequal Editors of EEPS.

Welcome Jessie!
